What an awesome book. I hesitated to read this because I am generally put off by anything religious, and i feared that a speculative fiction book written all the way back in 1959 might be a bit outdated in its speculation. I'm happy to say my fear was unfounded. I thoroughly enjoyed the writing and the story, and especially loved the humor. Mr. Miller creates a completely believable post-apocolypse scenario crossed with a sadly dead-on take on human nature, and the scene where Brother Francis gets spanked by the abbot was really hot! My only suggestion would be to add a glossary to translate the many latin phrases used throughout because I'm too lazy to look them up.
