Read from February 22 to 27, 2011, read count: 1

Kage Baker has a charming and entertaining way of wielding regular words to maximize the humor in simple things. I would read her again. The suggestions that, at least for the characters in the book's society, much of life should be a matter of satiating one's base desires--that got old, and it made me tire of the book a bit. Were that the trend in her other books, I probably would not read her again, despite the amazingly clever, funny, laugh out loud use of language.
