3 1/2 stars. Kathleen needs a change in her life so she accepts a job to head the renovation of a public library in small Minnesota town. No sooner does she get there than 2 cats attach themselves to her. Fast forward a few months, as the renovation is lagging behind and the town prepares for it's annual music festival, Kathleen has settled into the town and made many friends. Too bad the same cannot be said for the celebrity guest conductor who is heading the music festival, Gregor Easton. When Easton is murdered, Kathleen has the misfortune of finding his body. Now she is determined to discover who killed him, and she soon has unexpected help.

I enjoyed this book but there is a lot going on. It is the first book in the series and those often suffer from information overload. But the characters are so homey and the town is so nice. I know I will read the next in the series. I really need to find out about the mysterious deserted house and the strange attraction Kathleen seem to have to the magical cats that live at that house and with her.
