A wonderful YA series for those who enjoy historical novels as well as those that love adventures and coming-of-age stories. Beautiful prose, great plots, well-formed characters.

34.0% "The Eagle of the Ninth: The first book is a wonderful YA novel. It's entertaining and enjoyable. The book is clearly about Marcus, although I wish that there would've been more emphasis on and dialogue between other characters like Esca and Cottia. 4 stars"

100.0% "The Lantern Bearers: This was a much more tragic and darker book than the first three, but exciting and enjoyable nonetheless. Aquila's journey and development is interesting to read, although the story does drag from time to time. 4 stars"
