I don't often read contemporary fiction because it's usually cheesy. Ok, so this one had some cheese involved, but in a good way. While the external plot was a little too contrived (the hurricane plot was so Hollywood) the relationship between the characters made this story. As well as the descriptions of island life - they were so vivid I really felt I was living on the beach. That's a wonderful thing in February!
