This book is an absolutley moving story about i little girl from the middle east. When the little girlsvfathe ris taken away because he has a foreign education in a family of girls with out there father they cant support themselves because they cant go outside to get any food or get any money. So parvana has to make money for her family by cutting her hair and wearing mens clothes. When she does this she meets her freind from school who has disguised herself as a boy just like parvana. Her freind also give her new money making ideas some of which were not that great like digging up bones out of the graveyard so they can return them to a bone man who collects them gives them money so they can buy trays and sell thing on them when her sister is invited to marry someone parvanna is left at home to make some oney but when she gets word that the town that her sister and family are in has been bombed and so parvanna gets in the truck and drives to that town to find out if they're ok.
