it was amazing
bookshelves: childrens-scifi

I absolutely adored this book. Twelve year old Liam is tall for his age and after a wild day on an amusement park ride, his beard starts growing in, so he is able to pass as an adult. When he hears about a contest to win a trip on the first spaceship to take civilians into outer space, he does what he must to secure a place for himself and his “daughter”. This book reminded me of CHARLIE and the CHOCOLATE FACTORY. (the movie , as I have never read the book.)
This is very well written with lots humor, great characters, and information about the history of space travel. I loved the references to the games Monopoly and World of Warcraft. It is also a feel good book about Dads and their responsibilities and importance.
