This book was the best of the series. It wasn't as formulaic as the other ones. Dee Henderson has a way with compelling story. This story had me from page one.
The story starts right after the end of the last book. I don't want to spoil anything from that book and this one, but the last book had a very tough ending which affects Stephen, the main O'Malley. The way the story is written is very beautiful and a great way to wrap up the series.
One thing that troubled me was keeping up with all the O'Malleys. They didn't all seem to be mentioned. It had me wondering if Henderson had forgotten about some of them.
