This is part of my community's Everybody Reads program.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book! I loved the tone of the writing, the whimsy of it, the affection between Russell and Holmes, and Russell's amazing, tenacious (feminist) spirit. If I didn't know that this was the first of 8 books featuring Miss Mary Russell, I might be weeping right now from missing her character. The mystery was great and keeps the reader guessing and the culmination of it all doesn't leave one feeling cheated like some mysteries can. Highly recommended.

Leslie I read all 8 of the books. Some are better than others.
They all seem to include other "real" characters from fiction within the stories.
Enjoy! I did.

Chessa Awesome! I was glad to see that there are more in this series. I really like the sense of humor and tone.
