Ever wonder about color pigments and how they were made? Ultramarine Blue, for example, was such a rare and expensive item that Renaissance artists would have to wait for their benefactor to give it to them in order to finish the painting. Michelangelo's painting The Entombment is left unfinished as the Virgin Mary's Robe was worthy of such an expensive color. Michelangelo ran off to carve >i>David and never finished it.

It's an interesting read into history from items we take for granted in our daily lives.
