Prosy story composed of inverted familiar cliches that don't quite benefit enough from the new spin. Characters are not overly sympathetic. Main attraction is for the unusual vampire characteristics: weak, ill, far from beautiful. Some readers might enjoy this as a break from the superhuman vamps dominating YA lit these days.

Scott Robins I was looking forward to reading this but you aren't the first person I've heard from that says it's disappointing. Loved Evil Genius so I was hoping she'd work her magic from there on the vampire genre. Might still check it out for myself.
