** spoiler alert ** I'll admit it once again: any book that takes place in a boarding school setting I'll get sucked into. Unfortunately, the Private series is a ridiculously long and I don't know if I like it that much...yet. The protagonist Reed Brennan comes off as the most shallow person in the universe in the first two books, but in Untouchable, she actually has some nice moments. She realizes her friends are her friends whether they're Billings Girls or not. However, after the death of her boyfriend in the last book, it takes her all of 25 seconds to move on to someone else. I'm all for being young and keeping up with healthy relationships or whatever, but sorry, if my boyfriend died who I liked so much I lost my v card to him, I'd have way more issues than the fluttering in my stomach and the tingles that run down my spine when some other dude looked at me. I think Reed needs some counseling, stat.

Heroine aside, the plot of this book kept my attention. The police are questioning Josh for the murder of Reed's ex, Josh is actually a pill popper, Noelle tries to cover up stuff by buying Reed expensive things...why am I rooting for Noelle? Not that there's anything to root for, exactly, but I'd rather see her emerge triumphant than have Reed report all her friends to the Dean so she can be queen of Billings. I actually like all of the supporting characters so much more than Reed. I want them to keep their secrets and keep her in the dark, even if it's driving me crazy as a reader.

Or maybe I just like villains.

I've actually seen the horrible web series for this and know what happens, so while I read I've been trying to see if the books have any sort of foreshadowing or clues, but somehow I'm coming up close to empty. I know. I cheated. So sue me. I'll still keep going (the next book is on its way from Amazon), though once the murder is solved, I have no idea what could possibly come next...other than Reed becoming queen of Billings. Oh the humanity. I hope I'm wrong.
