All the hype about Brandon Sanderson is true and I now understand why Robert Jordon chose him to complete The Wheel of Time series. Plainly put, he is an excellent writer and I thoroughly enjoyed his first book in the Mistborn series.

Mistborn isn't like any other fantasy novel that I've read, and this thought kept coming to mind as I read further and further into the book. The characters are unique and vibrant, and the plot was fast-paced and completely entertaining. Furthermore, the concept of Allomancy and all the incredible things that Vin and Kelsier are able to do with their metals is just about the most brilliant idea for a magic showdown EVER!

Mistborn is about as original as a fantasy book can get and I can't wait to get started on the rest of the series.
