I found the violence chilling, the characters honest, and the plot well thought out up until a few chapters at the end. (I'm not going to spoil it for you though).

I connected well with the choices the main character had to face often thinking what I would do in a similar situation -- even amongst the backdrop of so much violence. Of course, it was true to King's style.
