Dwight Okita Historical fiction is not my usual choice. But this was irresistible. A combination of two simultaneous histories: one of a visionary urban planner giving birth to the Columbian Exposition, and one of a serial killer stealing away the lives of low-profile single women in the killing room of his hotel. The author's prose is gorgeous. He comes from a journalism background. When will this be made into a movie? The urgency of the intertwining lives was compelling.
