I read this book on a bus ride from a field trip with a bunch of 5th graders. The action pulled me right into the zone, even with the children laughing and carrying on in the bus I was sucked into Raine's world. (Hey hey, I wasn't the chaperon on the field trip, the kids didn't even speak my language. I joined them for the sight seeing, so getting sucked into this fabulous book wasn't an issue) Raine is an amazing character.

I read the eBook edition of this book, so I didn't have to look at this cover. But now that I am here on this site seeing it in full color, lets have a talk, shall we? Who is this woman? She is not Raine. Her hair is perfectly glossy and blonde (umm...). Her loose cotton clothes blowing in the breeze. WHAT? Where is the leather? The dirt and grit that comes from being pushed around by dark magic? And with all the action Raine sees, her RED hair would hardly be perfectly brushed and gleaming in the sunlight... The publishers have got to fix this.
