This actually was a surprising read. The storyline was well written and the traditional misunderstandings that happen in romances between the usual suspects, the main hero and heroine, was well done and not so typical and not over done! Which I cannot stand when the heroine is a whiner or one to keep misunderstanding over and over. I thoroughly enjoyed this older historical romance and those who are looking for a good read without all the hot and heavy going on will find that this will fit the bill! Sometimes it's very nice to read a story line that isn't put in just to back up all the sex scenes! There are none in this book. And that is just fine as the characters are all well done and the story very enjoyable.
