The Lunatic Cafe (Anita Blake Vampire Hunter, #4)
by Laurell K. Hamilton
by Laurell K. Hamilton
Book 3 of the Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter novels, Lunatic Cafe is my favorite yet. So this is a good sign. I'm enjoying the books more and more as we go....
In this one, Anita is once again on the search of a murderer. It began as a missing persons case, but you knew that wouldn't be the case after very long. I enjoyed delving deeper into the shapeshifter world and meeting new characters. Understanding Richard more made me like him more than I did in the second book. Still don't know if he's the "one" for Anita.....the way she treats him is a double-standard, but it's typical Anita. ********spoiler alert******** I could have done without the whole marriage proposal.....I mean, really?? Anita is SO not the marrying type...and dating both Richard and Jean-Claude....CHOOSE WOMAN!!! And she needs to get over her whole "I don't date monsters" thing. Hello!! she 's one of the monsters if you really look at it....geesh. She has an affinity with the dead. Not exactly normal.
Overall....best book yet. Still LOVE Jean-Claude. Still enjoy the witty banter between Anita, Dolph, and Zerbrowski. Enjoyed the storyline. Still like Richard, although he's beginning to be a little bit of a wimp where Anita is concerned....he lets her push him around to much. Jason's a good werewolf character that I'm convinced will be back. Still waiting on a hook-up......
Looking forward to book 5!!
