Is it just me, or is Goodkind (via Richard) becoming quite preachy?
Although the basic storyline was generally interesting, I found myself skipping over pages and pages of Richard's rant against the idiot people of the Naked Empire's ideals of not facing reality/not allowing themselves individuality/succumbing to evil because they refuse to fight. And, what's up with the silly reason why Richard was losing his magical abilities? Please. Although, in hindsight, maybe he should have eaten Betty the Goat.
This aside, I continue to enjoy the characters of primarily Zedd and Adie, Cara, and the relatively new addition of Richard's sister. As for Richard and Kahlan, they are getting a bit dreary and the (oft repeated) story line of one (or both) of them at death's door is getting more than tiresome.
Hoping the final three in the series pick up more in interesting action and lay off tremendously on the preaching.

It's not just you. I enjoyed the series in the beginning, but towards the end, I didn't enjoy it as much because of Richard's long soliloquies about his political agenda/philosophical beliefs which mirrors Goodkind's own. And unfortunately, it doesn't get less preachy in the last three books, only more so.
