Her Fearful Symmetry, an enjoyable read but not nearly as well developed as the Time Traveler's Wife. This book begins slowly and keeps a neutral pace until close to the end. I suppose the author was building the characters and creating a bond with the reader but I felt this never happened. I did not feel a strong emotional connection to anyone in the book. They all appeared (sorry for the pun) as shadows or ghosts of real people. Maybe that was the author's intent. Each character was rather trapped, trapped by fear, love, and loss. The details were very descriptive and I enjoyed reading about places familar to me. The book is well written in that it kept my interest and there were several twists and turns towards the end. Unfortunately, I had already guessed a couple before I reached that point. And the end....was I happy for the character or sad?? I really couldn't say and that bothers me.
