** spoiler alert ** Why I read this book:
I came across Good in Bed by Jennifer Weiner while browsing the donation shelves at work. The main character is an over-weight woman who struggles with more than just her weight. Having been overweight for most of my life, I was curious about this book. I don't normally read chick-lit, but I thought I'd give this one a try.

One sentence summary:
One woman struggles with her weight, faces tragedy, and gets her happily ever after complete with magical weight loss, baby, and man of her dreams.

Kuddos:
Cannie is a strong-willed, pull no punches woman. She's as hard on others as she is on herself. I love the emotional wringer Weiner puts her character through.

Quibbles:
At times this books feels dated as far as the attitudes the characters have to their weight. It feels very nineties. Halfway through the book, the plot takes a drastic turn that lost me. The second half of the book seems to come from no where, and it resolves in a very fairytale ending that left me unsatisfied.

Verdict:
Back to the donation shelves.
