Fantastic book of poetry. Each of the many short prose poems hold together to make the total book an arc of a life - and many generations of lives before her. She deals with race, echoes of slavery, religion, loss, eluded violence, forgiveness - the totality is compelling to read in one sitting, and re-read again.
