I agree with another reviewer who said that it is really neat this exists, but that the book does have its flaws. I would have liked more information about where each tale came from - the Native American group and so forth - and a list of suggested further reading might have been nice. And when I tried to read straight through the book my interested definitely waned. When I stopped trying to do that, and instead read one story a night as a sort of bedtime story, I enjoyed it much more.

Some of the illustrations were not to my taste, but that will always happen when you have a large collaborative project like this one. In all, I think it is a great book that could be used to help introduce children and young adults to different cultures and different stories.
