This is the fifth book, and final book, by Susan Mallery in the Lone Star Sisters series. The story is about Dana Birch, Titansville deputy and life-long friend to the Titan sisters. She’s been charged, by the sisters, to keep an eye on Garth Duncan, the family’s nemesis. Garth, throughout the series, has been trying to take down Jed Titan because he refused to help Garth’s mother. Turns out Garth is Jed’s son (it’s not really a spoiler, because you find this out in the second book). This book is the finale of the series and is a solid read. Dana is one of the characters I’m never really sure if I’m going to like, but I end up liking her in the end. She’s a tough, no nonsense kind of woman who is very loyal to her friends. This book makes me like Garth more, too.

Although this series was a great and quick read, the Buchanan series is still my favorite (Tempting, Irresistable, etc). I tend to like to read series in general, because I like the character development. This series was a very well developed and the characters had some good depth to them.
