it was amazing
bookshelves: ya, favorites, dystopia

This book was very good. I tend to enjoy most dystopic literature, as ironic as that sounds, but this stands above the crowd in the teen genre. What made it so enjoyable was that love ends up not being just about passion or chemistry but about how people touch each other's lives.

And although the setting is in some possible future, the story often reflects how teens and adults can feel when they don't have love in their lives.

Here's an example of the type of prose that makes this book a five star read:

"Sometimes I feel like if you just watch things, just sit still and let the world exist in front of you -- sometimes I swear that just for a second time freezes and the world pauses in its tilt. Just for a second. And if you somehow found a way to live in that second, then you would live forever"
