3.5
I would like to congratulate the author for very successfully constructing a world where slavery is accepted and is the norm not just by the masters but with the slaves themselves, thus making sure that the reader is not outraged by the mere idea of slavery but rather over the cruelty that was dealt to the slave(s). That said, I'd tend to agree with the previous reviewers about the world that the author tried to sort of portray but i would've liked a bit more sense of where they are. Along with that i would've liked the author to have elaborated a little bit more on the appearance of the main characters...their features the color of their eyes, their hair...i still don't know whether Bran was a brunette or a blond what color was his eyes...etc.. And lastly, for a book to be able to stand on it's own plus hint at a sequel, i would've liked a bit better ending/closure of some sort... All in all a good read and i shall be progressing to the sequel. :)
