An Ideal Husband
by Oscar Wilde
by Oscar Wilde
It's another classic by Oscar Wilde...you would know he wrote it even if the book did not say the author. He did what he probably is best at- mockery of the Old English manner, their pride, honour and superficial ways of life. I loved every bit of it, but then I'm a die hard fan of the Oscar Wilde wit.
In the play, Mrs. Cheveley says- "Even you are not rich enough, Sir Robert, to buy back your past. No man is." True, eh?
