Simeon Yes, from all the recommendations in this reddit thread. I loved Shogun, and since it ends with the same war during which Musashi begins, I was sucked right into it.

Timeline-wise, Shogun 2: Total War comes first, spanning the events alluded to by Clavell and covered in Taiko during the middle of the 16th century, followed by Shogun (end of 16th century, beginning of 17th century), and then Musashi, which takes you from the battle at Sekigahara, to 1630 in the life of Miyamoto Musashi, the most legendary swordsman ever to walk the earth.
