This one has a simple story with predictable plot and ending. The amazing amount of hot sex, added with a menage and a little danger on the side upped the tension. After having read no small amount of stories with a BDSM theme, I still find surprises along the way. I loved how Maya Banks (fast becoming one of my favorite authors in the genre) set her own parameters when it comes to a D/s relationship.
Having recently read "Overheard", I can't help but compare a lot of similarities in the story. The heroine has a wilder side and her current boyfriend just doesn't do it for her, and when she confronts him about it she's a freak because the guy's such a pussy. Then they break up after the sex. So the heroine has doubts about her sexuality, she knows she wants to submit but she just can't find the right man. Step in Gray, the right man. The sexual tension between the two couldn't be more obvious whenever they're with each other and they don't have to be near.
Gray was set out on finding his cop partner's killer and he was planted in a security firm where Faith, a possible suspect, works. So it starts from there until they end up in bed together. They make all her fantasies come true in a secluded beach house, and he really pampered her. He literally took care of her. I loved how Ms Banks vividly described Faith's feelings, her tangled emotions, her nervousness - it's really easy to imagine it because while reading them I felt them.
I'd definitely read the rest of the series!
