This is book 1 of the Sookie Stackhouse (AKA True Blood) series. I'm kind of in love with it. I'm not going to say that this book is some miraculous feat of literary ability or anything, but it kept me up half the night every night until I finished it. For those who watch the show, I HIGHLY recommend reading the original book series. The major difference so far between the show and the books is that the show has several point of views that are not in the books. The only POV in the books is Sookie's. I'm dying to read the next book, but I'm forcing myself to read something less fantastical first.
