In this collection of three novellas, I liked one out of three. The first story was by a favorite author, Joanne Fluke, who writes murder mysteries with a cookie baker as the detective. I liked that story a lot, though I wish they had included the recipes as usual. There's something soothing about having a recipe read aloud. The second story I probably would have enjoyed if I'd read it in print, not listened to it. The reader was one of those who, for unknown reasons, reads as if through barely suppressed rage. Vitriol spills all over the narrative and poisons it. I wish I could tell these readers, look, there's sarcasm, and there's rage. Learn the difference. Argh. The third story was so dull I gave up on it halfway through. Maybe it got more exciting later, but I can only comment on the part I listened to, and it was dull and whiny. Oh well!
