A Coast Guard helicopter finds a fisherman's cooler bobbing in the Gulf of Mexico off the Florida coast. Thinking that they would find drugs, officials are startled to find body parts.
A massive hurricane is heading toward Florida and Charlie Wurth of the homeland security, asks FBI profiler, Maggie O'Dell for help in the case. However, they have to get to Florida before the storm.
A number of soldiers from Afghanistan who have lost limbs and had surgery are now coming down with a toxic aliment. A number of the soldiers have died and officials are attempting to find the cause.
Undertaker Scot Larsen isn't paying attention to the storm. He's just made an agreement with Joe Black so that Black could accept delivery and provide storage for body parts used in doctors' conferences.
I enjoyed the story and characters. The author is showing how body parts can be used and a market for these parts exist. The characters of Maggie O'Dell and Liz Bailey, a Coast Guard dive team member stand out. They are intelligent, assertive characters who demponstrate excellent problem solving ability.
Scot Larsen is a comedic character who is lost in the world of crime, storm preparation and life in general.
I took this book on vacation and found it to be a wonderful vacation read.
