** spoiler alert ** I'm uncertain. The writing's great, really gets you in the mood and in groove with the characters, the plot flowed, it's just the ending was too soft in one aspect and too jarring in another, and I didn't understand the reasons for either. And who does The Postmistress refer to? In the book, Iris makes it clear that she's a PostMaster, and Frankie isn't British. I thought the best line came from the authors' note when she says "how can you bear (both definations) the news" meaning, to carry the news and put up with it. I personally couldn't relate to Emma not wanting to know after WEEKS. The letter that was never delivered, well, I thought it had to do with war secrets or something important. When you see the people being killed in Europe, it numbed me to the casualties in America.
