This book is short, but pound for pound, it weighs in with some of the heavier books out there - every sentence is packed with meaning and significance. I'm the kind of reader that likes to underline key sentences and passages to find quickly later, but I found it hard to not mark up the entire book. The section on confession was especially powerful as it relates to our need to understand our own nature in Christ before God, and use that understanding to support each other as we look to grow in our sanctification. The section on the sacrament of communion did feel like it was added on as a bit of an afterthought; given the importance of communion in our remembrance of Christ, this part could have been developed more. But to criticize this book because of that feels almost unfair as it detracts from how comprehensive this study of life in Christian community is. Definitely worth reading for anybody who wants to grow deeper in faith in a community.
