I did like this book, it is amusing at times and I liked the characters. I think this book would have gotten more stars if I hadn't read Neil Gaiman's American God's book previously. If I compare Divine Misfortune to American Gods....well, American Gods wins hands down. So, if you haven't read American Gods yet....well...then read Divine Misfortune first and you'll enjoy this book more.

Cassi Damama oooh just finished american gods and fell across this one by pure accident - caught my eye for the small similarity.....hmmmmm

Colleen It's pretty good, but it's not as good as neil gaiman. But still worth reading. Did you read Neil Gaiman's book, "Anansi Boys", that's really good. Also I just found a new series you'd probably like called, "Hounded" by Kevin hearne. It also has to do with various gods...really, really well written and hilarious.

July I agree with your review 100%.
