Solid. Would give it another 1/2 star if that was an option. Reached an even greater appreciation for the comprehensive way Mary Stewart has tackled Arthurian legend from Merlin's vantage point. His character is complex and nuanced. I loved watching him age, his powers wax and wane, his confidence and self-assuredness grow. Somehow, watching the Merlin series on SyFy, and recalling other Arthurian legend I've read just makes me want to read more. It's like reading many stories of a Civil War battle, with viewpoints from the South, the North, the gentry, the soldier, and the nurse. It all weaves together in a beautiful and complex tapestry that makes each tale all the richer.
