After reading this book, I no longer had any desire to step into a fast food restaurant.

Okay, bit more of a review is in order. The writing is crisp and engaging. There is a fascinating segment on the chemical engineers who make most of the flavors in processed foods, particularly since it shows how much our perceptions are manipulated. And, there is an interesting look at how the culture of the fast food restaurant has impacted mass culture.

Well worth a read.
