Mary K. says, This wonderfully written book illustrates the forgotten costs of war. We don't see soldiers, we see men, or rather the absence of men, husbands, and fathers. This set of short stories that tells how the women cope, or don't, while their husbands are gone for months. It's told from the perspective that only someone who has lived through this could - the stories are heartfelt, but realistic. I couldn't put this down.
