This book is preposterous (and I think Pound would agree): disorganized, aphoristic, obscure , ambitious, lazy, and -- I found -- near-impossible to get through. Pound says it's a textbook suitable for classroom use, which is certainly a joke, though I'm not sure if the joke is in good or bad taste. I admire his project, but, whether I viewed it as an instructional book, a theoretical work, or a poetry anthology, I didn't find it particularly effective.
