The Quickie is one of the best books I've ever read. If you like murder, mystery and a thrilling twist at the end, this will probably become one of your favorites too. James Patterson is a genius writer who uses action right away to get the reader interested, then slowly uncovers the truth behind the action in a patiently paced thriller. The story begins with a woman named Lauren who believes her husband is having an affair. To get him back, she decides to have a passionate one night stand with a coworker of her own. The tables turn on Lauren fast when she watches from his window, horrified, at her husband murdering the other man in the driveway when he thinks she isn't there. When Lauren arrives home, her husband pretends it never happened. This is all in the first few chapters, and the story unravels backward to reveal the truth behind all of the relationships involved, especially Lauren and her husband's. This book is amazing.
