Nazi occupied Europe does not sound like the best setting for a love story. Credit to the author that made it work so well. I really loved this story, and just could not put this book down. I saw other reviews where people were complaining that there were too many lucky coincidences that kept Andras and Klara safe. With what happened to the Jews in Europe at that time though, I think the people that survived DID have many lucky coincidences! Someone else reviewed that they skipped to the end to make sure certain people survived, which I thought was funny, because I did the same thing. I couldn't concentrate until I knew for sure who was going to make it. Just a wonderfully written and interesting story.
