Vampires are said to be extinct everybody believes.
But when Ariel Swanson a novelist writes a fictional book about vampires and a prophecy she attracts the attention of Jachin Black a vampire who was banished from his clan because of his belief in a prophecy given to his kind some years ago that there may be a better way for them to live free and in peace among humankind. Jachin is convinced that Ariel is the one to fulfill the prophecy and he is determined to bring her to his clan leader and get back his rightful place among his people. But what he never expected was to fall in love with his prisoner …
This was a fast-paced book with action action action! Of course the romance is a main part in this story but there are also many exciting and dangerous situations for our couple which is constantly on the run from different persuers who all have their own interest in Ariel. The love story between Ariel and Jachin was at the same time sizzling and strained because despite his feelings Jachin wants to bring her to his leader and sacrifice his love on the altar of the greater good…but,well.. you have to read for yourself if there´s a happy end for our lovers. The author created also a new interesting twist on the origins of vampires (and werewolves by the way) the humans aren´t merely the poor victims they like to see themselves but also culprits. I really liked Ariel´s character development, she overcomes many of her fears during their trek and becomes a strong woman who fights for her life and love even when she´s trembling with fear. And Jachin is also forced to question his opinion about humans and the role vampires played in the creation of the werewolves their sworn enemies..
If you´re looking for a novel with both romance and action you should try this one! I surely will read the next book in this series: Scions: Insurrection!
