Read from October 28 to November 12, 2011

This was a disappointment because I loved Backlash. I read half the book (it's huge)and gave up when I realized that most of the samples of men Ms. Faludi interviewed were not common men at all. Ms. Faludi made some great points and then wrote essays on some men with too much detail about their lives that didn't resonate with what the book implied it was going to be about. It would have been nice to read about how this "Betrayal" affected the common man also, not only the fringes of society that are high school sex clubs, the occasional extreme violence at The Citadel, and men feeling deep sadness over a football team. Are the problems of these men due to this "Betrayal?" I don't buy it and I lost interest.
