I read this book a long time ago, but for some reason never reviewed it here on Goodreads before now. Perhaps I did not belong to this club when I read this book. I am a huge fan of Joy Fielding. She has written some really great books, this being one of them. Although, I found the subject matter very distasteful (child abuse), I read the book anyway. I have been known to put books down that contain either child abuse or animal abuse, but this book does us the favor of not dwelling on that subject matter, but rather, spins a great yarn of edge of your seat suspense. This book rates a five star rating from me, because I could not put it down, and to this day, I will purchase a copy of this book for a friend who has not yet read it, if I come across it at my favorite used book store haunt. I have already bought three copies to give out since I first read it, having borrowed my copy from the Library.
