I enjoyed a lot about this book. First off, it was nice seeing old friends again, like Roberta and Gryffyn and the Duchess of Beaumont, and my personal favorite, Villiers. I was intrigued by the premise of a woman taking control and dressing like a man in order to experience more exciting things in life than embroidery and sitting on a sofa. I especially liked how physically she was able to pull it off, because usually in my experience with romances, when the heroine goes dressing like a man, she's so "tiny and slender and beautiful" that everyone knows right away that she's a female. Not so much in this story. Harriet was able to be successful for a good while, thanks in part to her strong features. I liked Harry a lot, the scenes where she was admiring herself in mens' clothing were touching and funny, like she barely knew she had a body underneath all of her petticoats and panniers and all the trappings of a duchess. Lord Strange was a good hero, he was strong and handsome, and I thought it was hilarious in the first half of the book when he kept finding himself attracted to "Mr. Cope", feeling awkward about his feelings toward a "man". The play and sparring between the h/H was very well done, and even the "big mis" and subsequent reunion of the couple was nicely done, and just proved to me once again that Eloisa James is most definitely a wonderful writer, and a favorite on my list :)
