Fear Nothing (Moonlight Bay, #1)
by Dean Koontz
by Dean Koontz
I came in to reading this book with excitement from my previous experiences with Dean Koontz's books, but was a bit disappointed. The beginning of the book starts with death of the main character's dad, a place that would have been a good way to draw me in if I could have connected with the main character. That was one of the biggest problems of the book, Christopher Snow was just someone I couldn't relate with. The only thing I found particularly interesting about him was his... erm... XP. Basically, he can't go in the sun because his cells can't repair themselves after being exposed to light, of any kind. I could have bared with his character if the other characters didn't annoy me so much. The only main supporting character I could get myself to like was his dog.
The story itself was a decent one, but it seemed far fetched that almost the entire book took place within one night. In the middle portion of the book was the best part, oozing with a sense of mystery similar to the one found in "A Series of Unfortunate Events," but after that I got a bit miffed at Koontz. The way he reveals the answers to all of the book's questions in first through one old friend coming from nowhere and telling you almost everything, then some documents appearing (right when their needed!) and telling the reader some of the technical stuff.
Not cool.

I felt the same way! I didn't like this book much at all. Spot on review.
