This story was clever and interesting, but flawed, leaving the resolution as a little too pat. One of the problems I had with the story was the order in which the reader was given information. It's not until well into the story that the reader is told that the Imaginalis series, which so obsessed the main character, wasn't particularly popular. Up until that point, it seemed as if it was a big deal, and that it was only her obsession with it that was bugging her classmates, and that it was close to being the next Harry Potter or Narnia.
Another issue like this was the villain. Since we, the readers, haven't read the book-within-a-book, it's harder for us to understand the characters, but the villain seems pretty much all powerful. At one or two points in the story, I found myself wondering why the villain hadn't won yet.
To me, the ending didn't fit very well with the tone of the last half of the story.
Overall, it was enjoyable, but not as good as it could have been.
