really liked it
bookshelves: fiction, young-adult

Very well done. A slower-paced book, which is not a bad thing. The story takes place at the turn of the twentieth century, and Calpurnia, the main character, has the clear and distinct voice of another age. A great story for girls in particular because it addresses the issue of society's expectations and roles versus your own plans for yourself.
