White Witch, Black Curse (The Hollows, #7)

A new predator appears in town and starts to kill people by sucking all their emotions from them - a banshee. When Glenn almost dies by the attack, Rachel is forced to join the hunt after a creature that can´t be defeated. I didn´t particulary like the banshee storyline but there were other things that kept my attention.
Rachel´s "relationship" with the demon Al moves to another level after she was forced to become his student in order to save Trent. Now they start to develop a certain respect for each other and Rachel finally accepts her demon magic.
With the help of her empath´s friend and some of the violent events around her Rachel finally finds out who killed Kisten and together with Ivy goes for revenge. But how it all ended was one of the most disappointing moments. Damn, I wanted a big bloody revenge and what I got is.. almost nothing.
A new character is introduced - the ghost Pierce who suddenly appears in the story and immediately gets a position far more important that he should. I guess he was introduced in one of the short stories but because I didn´t read that, his presense and the effect of it on Rachel was far behind believable!! Seriously, Rachel was supposed to meet him when she was 18 and be with him for one day!! and now he is THE man of her life? Sorry, I don´t buy it!
This book was good but it lacked something that the other books have. What I liked the most was as usually the demon Al, Rachel´s pixy partner Jenks whose quotes make me laugh all the time and the new member of the house - the young gargoyle Bis whose surprising magical abilities are yet to help Rachel in the future.
