First paragraphwas the best! "I was thirteen the first time I saw a police officer up close. He was arresting me for driving without a license. At the time, I didn't even know what a license was. I wasn't too clear on what being arrested meant either."(p. 3)

This book just kept me reading. In short: Boy who lived on a commune with no tech, has to live in modern society until his grandma gets better. It is hard figuring out the real world.

The one thing that irritated the heck out of me was the social welfare person he lived with had a real nasty daughter. I can't believe she poured water out the window on him and treated him so poorly. My son would lose every privilege he ever had for treating someone with such poor manners. There were other things she did also that were just as rude. He end up doing something kind for her and she ends up being his friend.
